Passage 1 The Shanghai World Expo 2010 has left me a very deep impression. It is really a welcome celebration. The theme of the Expo is “Better city, Better Life“. The expo first and foremost offers a unique window onto the world’s diversity. From one pavilion to the next, we have discovered the cultures of different cities. We can also see how each city is managing the formidable challenge of reserving the past, planning the future and creating the conditions for living together. Globalization has brought us closer together and we will work together to make cities work for everyone. They must be places where the benefits of education, culture, science and information are accessible to all.

Passage 2 In the 21 century, modern life is more stressful to the people born in the 1980s and 1990s. Fierce competition is everywhere: we compete at work and in daily life. It may be that you feel hopeless in a situation. Take control of the situation instead of feeling powerless. A sense of control is the best weapon against stress. A person who is optimistic feels in control of his own life. If things are going badly, he acts quickly, looking for solutions, forming a new plan of action, and reaching out for advice. A person who is pessimistic doesn’t seek advice, since he assumes nothing can be done. If you change yourself and become optimistic, you can change your life.
